PQA Presents Quality Awards to 24 Medicare Plan Contracts for High Achievement in Medication Quality

The Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) has recognized 24 Medicare plan contracts with a quality award for high achievement or significant improvement in PQA measures of medication safety and appropriate use. The awards are based on published CMS Medicare Part D Star Ratings.
Navitus MedicareRx is recognized with an Excellence in Quality Award for PDPs and Dean Health Plan is recognized with an Excellence in Quality Award for MAPDs.

Pharmacy benefit managers, which are third-party administrators of prescription drug programs for insurers, say they reduce those costs but Navitus takes it further by passing along to employers all rebates and discounts.

Value-based insurance design (VBID) waives or reduces prescription copayments in order to decrease member cost barriers to refilling medications. Medication therapy management (MTM) is a member clinical intervention designed to reinforce members’ knowledge of their medications, which addresses barriers to medication adherence. Both methods have been shown to increase adherence in members, particularly when used in combination. To date, studies of such combined programs have often been completed within integrated health systems but have rarely included control populations.

APPLETON - When Navitus Health Solutions built an office here in 2013, its executives figured the big building along Interstate 41 would meet the company’s needs for five years. They were wrong. They ran out of space in two years. Construction is underway now on a second Navitus building next door with a price tag of more than $13 million. It’s 70 percent larger, at 120,000 square feet, than the first building and will be able to house up to 500 employees when it's ready in October.

Navitus Health Solutions, a Madison, Wisconsin-based pharmacy benefit manager, is opening a regional office in Phoenix, with plans to hire 70.
Jokake Construction is the general contractor on the $2 million, 22,000-square-foot project near Loop 101 and 56th Street, expected to be open in June. The architect is Potter Lawson Inc., with Evolution Design Inc.
Navitus Manages to Grow by Managing Customers' Pharmacy Benefits

Navitus Health Solutions LLC, a pharmacy benefits manager, says new customer growth has it expecting to hire 130 employees in Wisconsin by the end of the year.
The Madison company is projecting it will have 570 employees by the end of the year, up from about 440 now, said Terry Seligman, president and chief executive officer. It has about 300 clients now, up from about 100 in 2011, he said.
