Residency Program
Purpose Statement
To build upon the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop managed care pharmacist clinicians with diverse patient care, leadership and education skills who are eligible for board certification and postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training. A managed care residency will provide systematic training of pharmacists to achieve professional competence in the delivery of patient care and managed care pharmacy practice.

The Navitus PGY1 Managed Care Residency Program focuses on developing the next generation of pharmacy leaders.
Our 12-month program is built upon on the systematic training of pharmacists to achieve professional competence in the delivery of patient care and managed care pharmacy practice within a pharmacy benefit management (PBM) environment.
Residents will participate in a diverse variety of experiences at Navitus and our on-site specialty pharmacy, Lumicera Health Services. In turn, this will provide exposure to every area in which a pharmacist works and attainment of leadership skills including:
- Sound clinical management and value applications
- Critical data analysis and informatics
- Proficient communication and project management skills
