Navitus Health Solutions Announces CEO’s Retirement and Names an Interim Leader

August 2, 2019

MADISON, Wis., August 2, 2019 –Navitus Health Solutions announced today the retirement of its long-time President and CEO, Terry Seligman, R.Ph., effective this week. Initially he planned to retire at the end of the year; however health issues have accelerated his retirement plans. Parent company SSM Health has appointed David Fields, President of Dean Health Plan, to serve as interim President and CEO of Navitus while a national search is conducted for Seligman’s successor.

“Terry’s unwavering commitment to transparency, stewardship, and performance have positioned Navitus as an industry leader among pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs),” said Fields.

Seligman served as President and CEO for the past 12 years of the company’s 16-year history. Under his leadership, Navitus has flourished growing from a PBM with 80 employees, 20 clients and 500,000 members to an industry leader with 850 employees, serving over 600 clients and 6 million members. He also brought innovation to a new space, expanding the pass-through business model into specialty pharmacy with the launch of Lumicera Health Services.

Prior to joining Navitus, Seligman held a variety of senior leadership roles in managed care, provider systems, health insurance, retail, mail service, pharmacy benefit management and consulting with nationally-recognized organizations.

“Terry is leaving behind a strong legacy,” Fields said. “His vision, leadership, drive and ability to build an amazing team have paved the way for the continued success of both Navitus and Lumicera.”
