Alan Van Amber, RPh

Senior Vice President, Provider Services

As Senior Vice President of Provider Services, Alan is responsible for developing networks that meet client access, discount and quality needs, and providing oversight of the Navitus pharmacy network, including auditing and credentialing. Alan directs strategies for the procurement of pharmacy services through retail, mail and specialty channels to provide the best value to clients and members. 

Prior to joining Navitus, Alan held several senior-level positions at Prime Therapeutics, including Vice President of Pharmacy Network Management. He contracted with provider pharmacies for the initial launch of Medicare Part D, generated multimillion-dollar network savings from market-leading discounts and secured favorable dispensing fee agreements.

A licensed pharmacist for over 35 years, Alan is an active member of the National Council of Prescription Drug Programs, the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy and the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy. Alan has also been a member of the Minnesota Pharmacists Association for over 25 years, including time spent as a board member, and the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin for over 10 years.

Alan earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota and his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin MBA Consortium, where he was recognized as the top graduate in his year.
