Navitus Health Solutions Delivers Another Industry-Leading PMPM Trend for 2018

May 10, 2019

MADISON, Wis., May 10, 2019 — Navitus Health Solutions, a full pass-through pharmacy benefits company, released its 2018 drug trend report today stating that it continued to provide substantially lower costs for its clients in 2018, achieving an industry leading total net cost per member per month (PMPM) of $75.83 across its commercial business, which is 15% lower than the industry average of $88.97 PMPM. The report also states that Navitus’ trend management efforts have resulted in a cumulative savings of $57.13 PMPM over the past five years, compared to the industry average.

“With a transformative, pass-through approach, we make it our practice and our mission to put every dollar we receive from discounts or rebates back into the plan sponsor’s hands—which is exactly where it belongs,” said Tom Pabich, SVP of Business Development and Client Services.

Other key highlights from the report include:

  • Forty-eight percent of clients experienced a negative PMPM trend
  • Clients new to Navitus in 2018 saved an average of 16% in drug cost
  • Plan sponsors from a wide variety of industries that transitioned to Navitus and adopted recommended cost-reduction strategies, achieved a significant PMPM trend savings of up to 35%

Navitus’ modern, alternative solution leverages a powerful PBM engine built on a transformative pass-through approach, lowest-net-cost philosophy and outstanding clinical care model that works smarter and harder to deliver greater results. With this engine in place, ordinary PBM tools – such as utilization management, formulary, and networks – perform at a higher level to improve health more effectively and generate even more savings.

“We are proud to have achieved another year of significant results for our clients. However, we always want to accomplish more. Moving forward, we will continue to develop innovative solutions and fine-tune existing programs that lower costs and improve health for years to come,” said Brent Eberle, SVP, Health Strategies and Chief Pharmacy Officer.
